expertise, and resources from across the coffee sector

TIME FOR ACTION !
Coffee Barometer was coordinated by Ethos Agriculture. At Ethos we aim to create a safe place for disruptive thinking in the coff ee sector. We want to rethink business as usual and illustrate how sustainability can promote innovation and entrepreneurship. In order achieve this we facilitate actors from coff ee communities, research, development, private sectors to exchange views and approaches to promote holistic coffee sustainability strategies.
Hivos has supported the Coffee Barometer since its first edition in 2006.
Hivos is the managing organization of the SAFE Platform, which is a multi-stakeholder initiative, powered by the IDB Lab, that seeks to transform coffee and cocoa landscapes to create more people-centered and inclusive environments, through the adoption of sustainable climate-smart agricultural practices.
In its five-year run, SAFE has transformed sustainable coffee and cocoa landscapes across nine countries in Latin America through the investment of over $21 million in the shape of 20 initiatives. For more information please visit: www.safeplatform.org
Oxfam-Wereldwinkels (OWW) is a Belgian not-for profit organisation with a network of 200 World-shops, run by 8.000 volunteers and supported by a few OWW staff.
OWW is part of the Oxfam family fighting against injustice. Firstly and practically, we want to show that an alternative trade model that champion smallholder products. Secondly, more generally, Oxfam is pleading for equitable international trade regulations, through direct advocacy and through awareness raising of our volunteers and clients, creating a strong social movement of conscious consumers. In order to strengthen this voice, we participate in international networks, like this Coffee Barometer consortium.
All coffee traded by Oxfam in Belgium is bought from smallholder cooperatives in Latin America and Africa. Concurrently, OWW runs a supplementary support program to some coffee cooperatives in South Kivu, DRCongo.
